Dr. Chelsea Stoutenburg

Veterinarian

Dr. Chelsea Stoutenburg, a University of Minnesota DVM graduate, began her veterinary career in 2025 after years as a veterinary assistant. Passionate about patient care and client communication, she also hopes to expand into food animal medicine to support rural communities. Outside the clinic, she loves motorcycle racing, snowboarding, cabin getaways, and time with her pets - two bulldogs, a rabbit, and a cat.

Dr. Chelsea Stoutenburg earned her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Bemidji State University and went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota. Drawn to animals from a young age, she set her sights on becoming a veterinarian—or a dolphin trainer—around age five, and she’s never looked back.

Chelsea began her journey in veterinary medicine working as a veterinary assistant throughout college and officially stepped into her role as a veterinarian in 2025. She loves being part of her patients’ lives and values open communication with pet owners. Looking ahead, she hopes to expand her work to include food animals, supporting rural communities and contributing to a safe and sustainable food supply.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find Chelsea chasing adventures—traveling by motorcycle, racing flat track against her husband and dad on their Harleys, enjoying cabin weekends in Wisconsin, or hunting down the best local taco trucks. In the winter, she embraces the snow with snowboarding and an enthusiastic love for holiday decorating.

At home, she shares life with a fun and lovable crew: Sportster the American Bulldog, Dyna the Olde English Bulldog, Leonard Forrest Thump the Flemish Giant Rabbit, and their latest addition, Ms. Clibbins, a fierce and mighty mouse hunter.

Chelsea lives by a mantra she shares with her dad:

You won’t catch butterflies sitting on the couch.

A reminder to embrace life, chase the thrills, and never let nerves stop you from making the most of each day.
